Julia R. Greer
Prof. Julia Greer is the Ruben F. and Donna Mettler Professor of Materials Science, Mechanics, and Medical Engineering at Caltech and Director of the Kavli Nanoscience Institute. Her research centers on designing and characterizing materials with multiscale hierarchical microstructures that integrate three-dimensional architectures with nanoscale-enabled properties. She has authored over 150 publications and delivered more than 100 invited lectures worldwide, including TEDx talks and major plenary and named lectures. Greer has received numerous prestigious honors, such as the AAAFM-Heeger Award, Vannevar-Bush Faculty Fellowship, and recognition by MIT Technology Review and Fast Company. She serves on the board of Azul 3D, is an Associate Editor for Nano Letters, and is also an accomplished concert pianist.
